Mobile Ticketing the next big thing in UAE and Middle East

M-ticketing will soon replace home-printed and pre-printed paper tickets in GCC and Middle East.It is becoming increasingly popular since it allows ticket buyers to avoid long lines and enables ticket sellers to eliminate printing and distribution costs - ultimately providing better service to customers.

M-tickets can be sent to a mobile phone or PDA via SMS. This consists of a bar code that can be quickly read and validated directly from the mobile device’s display screen.

PS: After feels
1. ting clear resounding. Except village in a mountainous area machine. Was loudest one section. Moreover does not have the variant pronunciation most greatly. The treble bass acoustic fidelity is very good
2. the signal is good. Talks over the telephone clearly. Office in 40 buildings. Signal very bad .NOKIA can be off and on. And hits a while suddenly not to have the signal. Or is places on the table. The signal turns before long does not have. The black raspberry was very stable. Moreover the answering telephone conversation is very clear.
3. treats the aircraft commander. If waits for an opportunity for 4 days according to a model of handset, that does not calculate is long, but the black raspberry's ultra big width screen can also achieve waits for an opportunity for 4 days. Is NB really
4. the screen is exquisite, the demonstration effect is good. In addition the black raspberry's opposition to Japan illuminates technology. Even if is the ultra big sun. Can also be able to see clearly.
5. the radiation is small. Beforehand NOKIA 6070.1 incoming letter numbers. The screen starts to shake. Therefore I can know in advance that is comes the telephone or comes the short note. Looked that screen's vibration knew. Side present's black raspberry places. Has come the telephone and the short note 0.1 responses does not have.
WAP surfer hypothesis
1. brings the browser to be unable to use CMWAP to access the net
2. as a result of present CMWAP/CMNET current capacity merge. Therefore suggested that uses the CMNET way. Uses OPREA MINI.
3. the option - > the high-level establishment - > TCP - > APN inputs the CMNET preservation then.
after 4.8700 4.2.114ROM, does not need to activate MDS., therefore MDS may not use the tube. After establishing APN, might.

In depth and detailed N82 review

Mike Evans from Mobile Mentalism has produced a lengthy three part hands on review of the N82, handily broken down for easy reading.
He defines the N82’s primary purpose as ‘fun’, and backs it up by saying everything about the device is designed around ‘pictures, video or music’. The media gallery is ‘neat’ – needing only one button push to get directly to your images. The camera is a ‘good’un’, and the ‘powerful xenon flash’ is handy for taking snaps in his dark back yard. The final part of the review covers apps and the summary, where Mike says he was ‘very impressed’ with the device.
Having waded through all three parts of the review, is there anything that Mike may have missed that you are keen to know? Are you a fan of this device? Jump over and let him know.

Exterior

The N82 comes with a neat candy bar form factor that fits easily in the hand as well as the pocket. Despite its huge range of features, it's just 50.2 x 112 x 17.3mm in size,or as thin as the original RAZR was.

On the back, as you'd expect, is the camera, with xenon flash just above it and a shutter to protect the lens when not in use.

Around the sides are a plethora of buttons, including:
  • USB port
  • microSD card slot
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • dedicated camera button
  • volume control buttons
  • media gallery button
The media gallery button is particularly neat as it takes you directly to your photos and videos with just a single push. No hunting for the gallery menu or trying to work out what icon does what. Just push the button and your videos and pictures are displayed instantly. Perfect for when you're trying to show your mates a pic while blind drunk!

One thing that is a bit annoying is the keypad. The buttons aren't exactly big, and it's easy to hit the wrong button. Not too much of a problem when calling someone, but it can be really annoying why typing in a Web address in the browser, or worse, trying to play a game.

Detecting mobile devices using PHP

The developers will be happy to find this info which I bumped into today. Hand Interactive has published an article on how to detect a mobile device using PHP.

“Don’t you wish there were an easy way to detect whether your web site visitor is connecting with a desktop PC or a mobile device of some sort?
The good news is that using PHP (or another server-based scripting language), it’s sort of easy to detect some devices by parsing the UserAgent string. Because the code is run on the server rather than in the browser itself (such as JavaScript), these PHP-based techniques yield better reliability in detecting mobile devices. Just remember that there are lots of important caveats, including:
  • These technqniques depend on the contents of the UserAgent string. As a result, these techniques may not work if the browser is emulating a different one (e.g., some mobile browsers can be set to emulate Internet Explorer).
  • Mobile operators can also change the UserAgent contents when the device is customized for their networks and added to their stock device portfolio. Operators also sometimes change the UserAgent value as the page request passes through their networks.
  • UserAgent strings are moving targets. Once implemented, you’ll need to monitor the effectiveness of your code against the list of your high priority devices or platforms. “

Mobile phone users can also check their 15 digit IMEI number by dialling *#06# on their mobile handset. MVAS to generate Rs 11,000 crore by 2010 in India

You will be able to download 15 minutes of your favourite film or a 15minute video of your birthday party on your mobile. This will happen by the end of the year with the expected entry of the third generation (3G) services in the telecom sector.
The mobile value added services (MVAS) sector is expected to generate sales of Rs 11,000 crore by 2010. The MVAS industry will achieve compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 44 per cent in the next few years. As of today, 60 per cent of MVAS revenues come from audio downloads. But with the entry of 3G services the video downloads will perform a major role.
Source: Television Point
“3G services will provide higher bandwidth on mobile that will enable MVAS provider companies to sell the data that is in the form of video. Currently, video clips having the duration of hardly five seconds can be downloaded. Against this, 3G will allow 10 to 15 minutes of video shoots. Internet access will be much faster and it will give an edge to MVAS providers.”
The Indian consumer’s capacity to adopt new technology is faster than many other nationals. It will lead towards offerings of many more value added services like financial transactions, different advertisements depending upon demography, entertainment downloads and much more.
With the advent of 3G, services like video conferencing and video streaming are expected to refresh the present MVAS space. Given the gradual slump in basic prices 3G services will have a significant role to play in terms of creating a differentiation for operators. With options like mobile number portability (giving options to the subscribers to decide on operators without changing the number) MVAS is bound to play a major part in customer retention.”
As of today, the total wireless subscriber base stand at 28.7 crore and is increasing at a pace of 80 lakh subscribers per month. Out of this, roughly 10 per cent have availed internet services which means that the same number may opt for 3G at the time of the launch of the 3G services.
