Look At This Black Beauty-Nokia's Latest Two Head Cell Phone

Recently I read a article about this Nokia's latest mobile(Nokia 6555).Its feauters were fantastic. So i decided to share with u all. Here's a design concept by Daewoo Kim for a cell phone that might actually be practical in desperate situations, because when one phone runs out of power, the other one can charge it up. And look at them, aren't they cute, spooning on that charger together? Cell phone purveyors will probably like this design, because it may entice people to buy two products instead of one. There's another unique idea built into this cell phone, too.

        * Nokia 6555 is Skinny Clamshell with 3G, Analog Clock, Video Sharing.     * Nokia 6555 is the first WCDMA phone with a smooth-back fold design.     * It has a QVGA 16 million color internal display on a large 240×320 screen, 30MB internal memory, microSD slot, Bluetooth and the self-portrait and video sharing camera.     * Available in black, red and meta`llic peach-or is that apricot.

Mobile social networking use grows 182% over 2007 in US

The volume of U.S. wireless subscribers who accessed social networks via mobile device increased 182 percent between September 2007 and October 2008 according to a new consumer study conducted by research firms The Kelsey Group and ConStat. In all, 9.6 percent of U.S. subscribers ages 18 and over connected with a social network via mobile handset in October 2008, compared to just 3.4 percent in September 2007.
Other highlights of the Kelsey Group/ConStat report: In October 2008, 15.6 percent of subscribers searched the mobile web for local products or services (compared to 9.8 percent in September 2007), 14.3 percent searched the mobile web for products or services outside of their local area (compared to 6.4 percent), 13.7 percent accessed mobile for information on movies or other entertainment (compared to 8.2 percent), 11.7 percent accessed info on restaurants or bars (compared to 9.0 percent) and 8.4 percent watched or purchased a mobile video clip (compared to 4.4 percent).
eMarketer forecasts that by 2012 over 800 million users worldwide will access social networks via mobile device, up from 82 million in 2007. While the total mobile social networking user population will still account for less than 20 percent of the combined global mobile user base, eMarketer anticipates those users will enjoy a disproportionate impact on marketing, media and mobile communications because creating and sharing digital content makes up such a significant component of the social networking experience.

Social networking by mobile phone is even more prevalent in other countries. itsmy.com is a worldwide mobile-only social network based in Germany with 2.5 million members. More than four out of 10 of its users have never used a (PC) online social network, according to a study it conducted in December 2008.

GSM 3G Middle East : Mobile broadband to rock the Middle East

GSM 3G Middle East 15th-16th December, Dubai
What was evident from the first day’s discussion is that mobile broadband is heralded to benefit from the same explosive growth that is being enjoyed in the west.  Slim Saidi of Zain Saudi Arabia indicated that there is significant potential for mobile broadband and that it is now just a matter of reaching those subscribers and providing access.
The rallying call was picked up by Farid Lekhal, Chief Commercial Officer for Vodafone Partner Markets, who said the way forward is to exploit the potential of the latest internet-capable devices and champion the accessibility of on-portal and third party services.
Vodafone has had the opportunity to learn from the mistakes made in its partner markets, leading the operator to conclude that third party applications do not cannibalise traffic on the network. “On the contrary they expand it, and there is still room for operators to have portals,” he said.
Tayfun Cataltepe, Chief Corporate Strategy Officer at Turkcell, which recently won Turkey’s 3G frequency licence, shared the other operators’ enthusiasm for internet mobility, declaring that, “Mobile broadband doesn’t mean you have to be a dumb pipe.”
“Mobile broadband is the future of telecoms on the whole, and the term ‘broadband’ will even fall out of usage as all connectivity will become ‘broad’,” he said.
Turkcell revealed that it will launch 3G services in June of 2009, and hinted that it would enable third parties to provided services on the network as a core part of its strategy. “The classical VAS (value added service) model is based on revenue sharing,” said Cataltepe. “Those with the most creative services will make the most money, so operators will need to seek a revenue sharing agreement,” he said.
Zain’s Saidi agrees: “Access is a commodity now, so people are willing to pay for services they use. When the customers demand services it’s up to the operators to deliver,” he said, although the participating operators also posited mobile ads, subscriptions and data traffic revenues, as ways of monetising mobile broadband.
Also on the panel was Fouad Brahim Boumakh, president and CEO of Nano-Techpower, a start up which specialises in using nanotechnology to improve the battery performance of wireless devices, who summed up the sentiment over mobile broadband: “The name of the broadband game is any application, anywhere, on any device.”
